UV OFFSET COATINGS
In offset printing, OPV (overprint varnish) can be applied using two main methods:
A. In-line Application
The varnish is applied directly within the printing press, immediately after the printing process, without removing the substrate from the machine.
B. Off-line Application
The varnish is applied in a separate coating unit or machine after the printing process is completed.
OPV can be applied through three different system configurations:
Roller Coater Systems
Dedicated coating units designed to deliver controlled and uniform varnish films.
Offline Offset Application via Dampening Unit
The varnish is applied through the water dampening system, requiring appropriate formulation to ensure compatibility with the fountain solution and stable transfer characteristics.
Offline Offset Application via Ink Duct Unit
The varnish is fed through the ink train, demanding specific rheological properties to ensure proper distribution, transfer efficiency, and film formation.
